iXS Middle European Cup at the Bikepark Leogang

After a successful and exciting Out of Bounds Weekend in the beginning of June, the next summer highlight at the Bikepark Leogang isn't far away. 2007 was the first Out of Bounds Weekend without any downhill action, but spectators will be happy to hear that the upcoming IXS Cup will make up for that - big time! This event is not only for spectators -- all active bikers can take part and register for it on the iXS Cup's website. The iXS Middle European Downhill Cup racing series, which stops in Switzerland, Germany and Leogang (the only race in Austria), represents the largest downhill series in the German-speaking countries. Up to 300 downhill riders are expected to line up at the start of the 2,200m long track with 460 meters of elevation and an average downward gradient of 20.7%. All races are open to both licensed and open-class participants. (Registration on: www.ixsdownhillcup.com) Top riders didn't have to be asked twice to join the series; some of the first riders on the list were Honda team members Greg Minnaar, Matti Lehikoinen and Brendan Fairclough, who put their names down immediately after registration opened! Furthermore, Chris Van Dine is back in shape for racing and will travel to Leogang together with his teammate Mick Hannah. There is definitely no better way to prepare for the World Cup in Schladming, which is one week after the iXS Cup in Leogang! The riders have plenty of reasons to make their way to the Bikepark Leogang again. Last year they had a great time at the Kona Top 2 Bottom Terminator and are pleased that this year the IXS Cup now presents a great alternative to the World Cup Calendar. Nothing stands in the way of an exciting and action packed iXS Middle European Downhill Cup! The course builders of the HU Corporation, who already put in their best work building the track for the annual Out of Bounds weekend, are taking a last look at the downhill course to ensure an awesome experience for spectators and bikers alike.
